Accutest H. pylori Urease Test is intended for the qualitative detection of the urease enzyme in gastric mucosal biopsy specimens for the presumptive determination of Helicobacter pylori in symptomatic adult patients.
H. pylori is a major cause of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. Eradication of the infection in individuals will improve symptoms including dyspepsia, gastritus and gastric ulcers, and may prevent gastric cancer. While there are several methods of detecting H. pylori, biopsy testing using rapid urease is considered to be the “Gold Standard” for detecting active H. pylori infections.
